A cause of death has been determined for the Maryland couple who was found inside of their hotel room in the Dominican Republic.
MSN reports Edward Nathael Holmes, 63, and Cynthia Day, 49, were found at the Bahia Principle Hotel at the resort of Playa Nueva Romana over the weekend. An autopsy report revealed that the couple died from respiratory failure and pulmonary edema.
Authorities revealed that they found multiple bottles of high blood pressure medications inside of their room.

Additional reports state that the couples bodies showed no signs of violence in connection with their death. The couple were found on the day they were expected to leave the country.

The last update on the couple was a Facebook post with photos uploaded by Holmes under the caption, “Boat ride of a lifetime!!!”
