While being interviewed by ABC News,
Spc. Brion Houston shared that this is actually his first Pride march. He was then asked if he came out in the military. Houston replied,

“Not yet — but now I am. This is my coming out!” said the soldier from Vermont.

His response was met with joy from his colleagues that he came with and the crowd surrounding him. Houston went on say,

“This is absolutely incredible. On the 50th anniversary of Stonewall, there’s no better time to be out in the military than right now,” he said.

The New York Post notes that Houston was among millions watching as the parade and march, billed as the biggest LGBTQ celebration where many recognize the impact LGBT people have had in the world.
