The style director for Vogue Brazil is in hot water and is forced to resign following tone def pictures from her 50th birthday party!
The fashion industry has taken major hits the past few months, and this next case is no different than the others.
Style director for Vogue Brazil Donata Meirelles was forced to step down from her position after photos surfaced of her 50th birthday party that resembled a time of slavery.
The pictures show Meirelles sitting on an ornate chair as black women stood on the side wearing white uniforms similar to those worn by Brazilian slaves during colonial times.
Former digital sales planner at AmericanShelby Ivey Christie saw the picture and took to Twitter to say the party seemed to have a “slave + master theme.” She continued to call the picture and celebration “disgusting” as she pointed out problematic elements of the party.
