White Nationalist Arrested For Threatening To Shoot Up Jewish Center
An alleged white nationalist was arrested in Ohio for threatening to shoot up a Jewish community center via an Instagram video.
Police discovered numerous weapons from James Patrick Reardon‘s mother’s home, including two AR-15 rifles, bulletproof vests and ammo.
The 20-year-old was charged on Saturday with telecommunications harassment and aggravated menacing for posting a video of a man firing multiple rounds from a rifle.
WYTV reports that the post tagged the Jewish Community Center of Youngstown and it wrote in the caption, “Police identified the Youngstown Jewish Family Community shooter as local white nationalist Seamus O’Reardon.”
“He was implying that he was going to be identified as the shooter of the Jewish Center,” Police Chief Vince D’egidio said.
The FBI found a Confederate flag flask and a jacket with Irish Republican Army print on it during their search.
D’egidio added that “there were several videos that [Reardon] posted on Instagram where he used a lot of derogatory remarks towards the Jewish community and the African American community.”
“This is a person that has declared himself as a white nationalist,” he added. “With the hate crimes and everything else going on, we want to make sure we did our part to make sure this person was taken off the streets very quickly.”
As of now, Reardon is being held on $250,000 bail while he waits for his arraignment.
