A California man was arrested last Friday after he was caught plotting to bomb the Temple Emanuel synagogue in Pueblo, Colorado.
According to Heavy.com, Richard Holzer was arrested Nov.1 on federal charges of attempting to obstruct religious exercise by using explosives and fire. Holzer became a person of interest for the FBI after he made online comments about his hatred of Jewish people and supporting the idea of a “racial holy war” as reported by FBI Special Agent-in-Charge Dean Phillips.
“Our task force used multiple investigative techniques to gather information that led to Mr. Holzer’s arrest late Friday night, including recorded conversations, meetings with undercover FBI agents, exploitation of social media accounts and the execution of a federal search warrant.”
Court documents stated Holzer planned to carry out the bombing on the day of his arrested and believed the two undercover FBI agents would help him with the attack.
Holzer is currently being held at the El Paso County Jail but will be transferred to the Jefferson County Jail.
