A New Jersey woman says she fell asleep in her car and woke up laying down on her driveway earlier this week.
According to the New York Post, the 80-year-old woman explained to police in Hamilton Township that she fell asleep in her car after parking it in her driveway around 9 p.m. Wednesday. She says she does not remember what happened after she fell asleep but woke up around 4 a.m and noticed that her car was gone. She also had a bruise and cut on her face but declined medical attention.
Lt. Mark Horan of the Hamilton Township Police Department said in a statement that the woman had no recollection of her car’s whereabouts or a previous incident involving the vehicle.
“[Officers] located an 80-year-old female victim who awoke on the ground in her driveway and her car had been taken, She did not recall any incident other than her car that she was previously sitting in being missing,”

The car was later found in Trenton but police reported that no arrests have been made for the carjacking.
“We’re fortunate that the victim wasn’t injured more seriously,”
