A Texas woman is dead after her two pit bulls mauled her to death. The dogs were quarantined at an animal shelter due to biting another person.
The Daily Mail reports 33-year-old Johana Villafane was mauled to death by her dogs while she was visiting them at the O’Connor Animal Hospital on Saturday. The dogs were quarantined at the shelter after attacking another person earlier this week and were scheduled to be tested for rabies. Villafane was feeding and walking the male and female dog in an outdoor area when they suddenly attacked her.
She was found by animal shelter employees but the dogs refused to let anyone near Villafane’s body while she laid on the ground. When police arrived at the scene, they stated they were “forced” to shoot the dogs because the animals prevented them from getting the woman medical attention.
