Woodstock may be going down the same hole as the Fyre Fest after a number of acts drop out due to lack of organization.
With 2019 being the 50th anniversary of Woodstock, it’s not off to a great start and seems to be getting worse.
Back in March, the music event released their lineup which consisted of JAY-Z, Chance the Rapper, Vince Staples, Miley Cyrus, Halsey, Run the Jewels, Janelle Monáe, Princess Nokia, Common, and more.
However, it looks like Jay is not here for the problems this festival is having and has decided to drop out.
Sources say that Woodstock has had their permit denied, they lost a financial partner and production company. They have not sold tickets despite the show being less than a month away. Let’s also not forget that they had to change the state the event would be taking place from New York to Maryland after the venue canceled.
A lot of this seems similar to Fyre Fest with the exception of the models and socialites in a promo video and no overnight promises of luxury living.
TMZ recently reported that Woodstock is now planning to make this a completely free festival with donations being accepted for charitable causes. However, if you were looking to go VIP, that’s not free. The sales for VIP tickets will go to help pay for staffing.
As of now, there is no word on how the tickets will be distributed.
