Ahead of Sunday night’s 61st Grammy Awards ceremony, where he performed alongside singer Camila Cabello and received his first ever Grammy, Atlanta rapper Young Thug nearly made it to the annual show after a close run-in with local Los Angeles Police.
While in West Hollywood, hours before the show, authorities pulled over Thugger and his team for a traffic violation; which ended up with everyone pulled from the car and handcuffed, including Thug.
In addition, footage obtained of the encounter, all were lined up outside of a McDonald’s, and during, one associate confessed to possession of a registered firearm; however it wasn’t in California, so cops immediately arrested him on the spot. Cops freed the rest.
Additionally, Thugger made it to the show and opened it alongside Camila Cabello for her “Havana (Remix).” See below.
Also, he won his first ever award for his vocals on Childish Gambino‘s “This America,” that won “Song of the Year.”
