YoungBoy Never Broke Again on Victim Killed in Shooting: ‘I Wish They Would Have Gotten Me’

NBA Youngboy is still upset and heartbroken over the latest shooting incident that injured his girlfriend and killed an innocent worker earlier this month.

In an interview with the Miami Herald, the rapper’s lawyer James Manasseh claimed that his client was “the victim of an assassination attempt,” adding that the rapper told him, “‘I wish they would have gotten me, not him.'”

As we previously reported, YoungBoy, born Kentrell Gaulden, was leaving the Trump International Beach Resort to head to to perform at Rolling Loud when a black Cadillac Escalade drove past and someone opened fire. Members of YoungBoy’s entourage, all of whom had a legal right to own a gun, returned fire. It was one of those bullets that struck 43-year-old Mohamad Jradi, a Hertz rental car worker who was killed by a stray bullet while on his way home after finishing up his shift.

Right now, YoungBoy has been detained due to a “prohibited social media posting” related to the shooting, according to Baton Rouge outlet The Advocate. District Judge Bonnie
ruled she’s “90 percent sure” after reviewing footage that YoungBoy is the person in the video. TMZ adds that, for now, he will be detained for “at least 30 days.” His court appearance set for June 21.
