Alicia Keys Opened Up The Grammys With A Tribute To Kobe Bryant

Alicia Keys’ opened up the Grammys earlier tonight with a tribute to Kobe Bryant in the wake of his tragic death.

TMZ reports Alicia Keys opened up the 62nd Grammy Awards with a heartfelt tribute to the late NBA legend and asked the audience to keep his family and the other victims’ families in prayer along with a moment of silence. Keys also noted that this year’s award show is being held at the Staples Center:

 “We’re literally standing here heartbroken in the house that Kobe Bryant built.”

While she spoke, the arena lit up two of his retired jerseys in the rafters and Keys brought out Boyz II Men to sing “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye.”
